Kyle, Juneau and I met up with our friend Heather, her daughter Maddie, and their dog Finn for a short hike to the falls, and to cross the giant swinging bridge that stretches over the Kootenai River Gorge.The parking lot is easy to find, right off of Highway 2. The turquoise rapids, sounds and view are one of a kind.Fun trail with great views of the river and falls.Such a cool hike/walk! You can easily spend an hour if you walk it all. Definitely recommend. The directional signs have recently been stolen but once across the RR bridge head left to the upper falls and right to the swinging bridge. In an effort to break routine and venture eastward, we took a day trip to Kootenai Falls, located between Libby and Troy, Montana. Fork Trail Sign missing, but as stated in an earlier review, left to bridge, right to falls. it was a perfect Fall day. It was raining when we were on our way here but the trails weren't muddy. They will cut open their paws.With the heads up said, it's a great place to explore. Where will your travels take you this year? This is an easy hike.

My whole family loved it!Hiked 7/4/20 in the afternoon. I saw dog owners having to carry their, in some cases, quite large dogs.Amazing trail!! Further down the river you can access the 30-foot high swinging bridge that takes you across the river.

Do you want to share your passion with others? Trailhead is right off the highway. However, the scenery and views are awesome. Plan A Visit To Kootenai Falls, Montana’s Beautifully Blue Waterfall. lots of wild flowers. Busy. You don’t have to hike for miles to see amazing views in Montana.

Still really muddy!Good parking, toilets, gifts (seasonal) and snacks (seasonal).This was the most gorgeous trail, especially the falls! However, the last part of the trail once you get near the falls may not be appropriate for bicycling. The new bridge is being built just upstream of the long-standing bridge. There are 2 vault toilets, picnic tables, and food available.Very busy! We went on a Saturday and there were quite a few people.
