In God’s foresight, He required Jews from all around the world to return to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover each year. Jesus was crucified during Passover so thousands of Jews from around the world saw our passover lamb hang publicly from a cross on a hill overlooking Jerusalem. Some churches do not recognize the holiday at all.
When we model the preaching of both men and women in our churches, we not only help our young people see the full picture of what God had in mind for His Church, but we also allow God to awaken the call to ministry in our young men and women who are needed if the Church is to proclaim the gospel to the whole world.Pentecost reminds us that we need everyone to accomplish the tasks God has given His Church!The second significant point we learn when we look deeper into Pentecost is embedded in the Jeremiah prophecy: God’s people will have His law in their minds and hearts. They shared their belongings so that no one was hungry or needy. Though sometimes overlooked, the season of Pentecost is rich with lessons for our daily walks as Christians. As they were gathered, a “violent wind” and fire came, and the people were filled with the Holy Spirit and suddenly able to speak in different languages. This is also true from a spiritual perspective, since the Spirit brings the church into existence and enlivens it.
This is more than obedience to a written set of laws.
