Vallecito Lake is located just outside of Durango, Colorado. In June and July of 2002, the Missionary Ridge fire burned over 70,000 acres in the Durango and Vallecito Lake area.

Many of the areas' accommodations (cabins, vacation home, full-hookup RV sites, and grassy tent sites) site at the water's edge, making this lake idea for a fishing destination.
