it seems to be stuck. The scanning is (relatively) faster when you quit Photos.
Initially this happened when it reached appr 20 faces and at that stage the MediaDb.v1.sqlite file is approximately 400MB. I'm looking for a way to rescan all older pictures from time to time to detect more faces when Photos is updated. I have a iPhone 5S and just downloaded the new IOS 10 update and when I go into photos the people it says 'to finish scanning your remaining 400 photos lock your iPhone and connect it to power'. My latest two attempt led to only 4 faces with 163, 23, 8 and 2 photos respectively and again a MediaDb.v1.sqlite of almost 400MB.
