We heard reports of a bear on it a few months ago, but we have never seen evidence of one. It follows Horton Creek up to the mouth of Horton Spring. Trail Description From the trailhead, the trail descends into the Horton Creek river bed. Be sure to arrive early as a parking is limited. Tonto Fish Hatchery is four miles north of Highway 260 on Forest Road 289. Nonetheless, be sure to make a little noise now and then so you don’t surprise one. Horton has a wide range of homes to choose from. The Arizona Game & Fish Department welcomes visitors and has a self-guided tour of the hatchery. Horton Creek is a nice trail for enjoying nature and giving your legs a good stretch.
