Before he stepped foot into politics, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan used to represent the University of Calcutta in numerous international forums in the United Kingdom.After he became the president, his students wanted to celebrate his birthday instead he asked them to mark it as a day to celebrate teachers. He was the President of India in the tenure between 1962 to 1967.
