SK Telecom plans to build 5G MEC (Mobile Edge Computing) Centers in 12 different locations across Korea to lead a cloud-driven industrial revolution. All of the 5G devices that are commercially available still are non-standalone devices that require LTE to support them.SK Telecom said that on January 16 it accomplished a standalone (SA) 5G data call on its commercial 5G network. However, SK Telecom promised to update its price plans after analysing the data usage patterns of subscribers on promotional unlimited plans, so all this could change. To achieve the milestone, the company applied SA New Radio (NR) software to its existing non-standalone (NSA) 5G base stations. SK Telecom said that nationwide coverage is being offered through a total of 34,000 5G base stations in 85 cities. Now, consumers will be able to unlock an entirely new mobile experience with the innovative features of the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.SK Telecom began selling its 5G smartphone Galaxy S10 5G for general customers on 5th April, the original launch date. ...SK Telecom, Samsung Electronics, and Cisco will collaborate to develop and launch 5G-based smart office services.The company lost 151,000 net postpaid phone subscribers, but that tally includes 338,000 accrued disconnects that are still getting service under the Keep America Connected program.
